I am an Air Force brat. We moved, and I needed to stand out at every new place. I needed to make my mark. I did this by owning a neon orange backpack. I did it by showing up for clubs and sports (which works in Mississippi, when no one cares about being on the team- they just let you on). I ran for offices, my slogan of choice being PICKmeg. This slogan got my on various student councils and the role of class president (I was unopposed). Point is, I think it is an accurate tagline for my life. I want people to pick me to spend time with, to trust me with their problems and friendships. I want people to pick me for the project at work. I want you to pick me for the extra concert/play/whatever ticket you have.
We may not be able to all look at the camera at once or manage to arrange ourselves nicely, but we are some good looking folks. This picture was taken at my cousin Drew’s wedding in Myrtle Beach, SC last month. The beach and family are my favorite things; I wish I got more of both.
