Bridal Shower – 2 months later

Awhile before this wedding, there was a bridal shower. It was the finest bridal shower anyone ever saw. My fabulous friends (Tranee’ and Sandra) and my lovely sister (Emily), made lots of yummy treats and adorable decorations. There were snacks and gifts. I felt like one lucky duck, a sweaty lucky duck. It was odd to have all the ladies I love together. It isn’t often all those that matter can be in the same room.

I’ve definitely got some fine friends and family. Thank you for an amazing day ladies!

Engagement Photos

A few weeks ago, we took engagement pictures. At first it felt awkward to appear loving, happy, and carefree in front of Caren’s camera. Then, it felt like we were just enjoying each other’s company while our pictures were being taken. It turned out to be a lot of fun and the pictures turned out lovely. I can’t decide which are my favorites. If you click any of them, it will take you to the Flickr photostream of the set.

Typical Encounter

This was JMO’s idea for a picture. He is often on his iPad, and I am often competing for his attention.

We put this one on our save the dates. I think it is lovely. I almost skipped this part of the “wedding process” and I am so very pleased that I didn’t!

On October 6th, JMO and I got engaged. We are pretty thrilled about this. If I was a decent blogger, I would have shared by October 7th at the latest.

Please note the classification article under my hand. Classification and Dewey Decimal are my life right now.

*At some point I will write a better blogpost about this. Possibly Christmas time!

The Making of a Mad Woman

So, being a girl in a wedding is totally different than being a boy in a wedding. Justin and his groomsmen spent their day at Dave & Busters. Christine and her ladies, spent the day getting all done up. Getting all done up took a significant amount of time. The hair and make up ladies spread out their goods and worked for hours to create our looks.

The other bridesmaids all had longer hair and they got curly updos. I got a Mad Men era bump. Apparently to make such a significant bump, the hairdresser must tease the hair like it has never been teased before.

The teasing kind of hurt. I didn’t really expect that. I had no idea how big it was getting.

I should attend some heavy metals shows. I could probably achieve this look on my own. I could probably not achieve the final look on my own.

Overall, I was impressed with my poof. It was as hard as a rock and people seemed pretty curious of the hair bump I was rocking. No, there was no “Bump it” in my do. Saturday left me with a greater appreciation on the difficulty of being a fancy lady. The nails, the tan, the facials and massages, the make-up, and the hair. I have to give it to good looking women, it is a full time job to be “put together.” It was fun for a day, but I don’t have that kind of time or money.

P.S. Leah looks hot too! Look how cute!

Wedding Weekend!

Christine and Justin’s wedding made for a beautiful weekend and I was very proud to be a part of it. Christine has been a very good friend to me since freshman year of college. She is now a teacher, a homeowner, and a wife. She did a phenomenal job planning this wedding and it paid off, it went very smoothly! And because I adore Christine, I took A LOT of pictures this weekend. Below are some of my favorites. I will definitely have a few more wedding posts this week as I come off my weekend wedding high.

More Justin and Christine Wedding to come…
