The Making of a Mad Woman

So, being a girl in a wedding is totally different than being a boy in a wedding. Justin and his groomsmen spent their day at Dave & Busters. Christine and her ladies, spent the day getting all done up. Getting all done up took a significant amount of time. The hair and make up ladies spread out their goods and worked for hours to create our looks.

The other bridesmaids all had longer hair and they got curly updos. I got a Mad Men era bump. Apparently to make such a significant bump, the hairdresser must tease the hair like it has never been teased before.

The teasing kind of hurt. I didn’t really expect that. I had no idea how big it was getting.

I should attend some heavy metals shows. I could probably achieve this look on my own. I could probably not achieve the final look on my own.

Overall, I was impressed with my poof. It was as hard as a rock and people seemed pretty curious of the hair bump I was rocking. No, there was no “Bump it” in my do. Saturday left me with a greater appreciation on the difficulty of being a fancy lady. The nails, the tan, the facials and massages, the make-up, and the hair. I have to give it to good looking women, it is a full time job to be “put together.” It was fun for a day, but I don’t have that kind of time or money.

P.S. Leah looks hot too! Look how cute!

Wedding Weekend!

CHRISTINE AND JUSTIN GOT MARRIED!

Christine and Justin’s wedding made for a beautiful weekend and I was very proud to be a part of it. Christine has been a very good friend to me since freshman year of college. She is now a teacher, a homeowner, and a wife. She did a phenomenal job planning this wedding and it paid off, it went very smoothly! And because I adore Christine, I took A LOT of pictures this weekend. Below are some of my favorites. I will definitely have a few more wedding posts this week as I come off my weekend wedding high.

More Justin and Christine Wedding to come…

I Like My Dad

This guy stopped at my house yesterday morning on his way to go see my grandparents. This guy has always been there and taught me how to be practical. He taught me to not spend money I don’t have. This guy taught me that an education or a certification or anything you can do to better your mind will somehow pay off. I love this guy.

Celebrating TRENT

I first met JMO’s little brother at a football game almost four years ago. Trent was shorter than me then. I know that shouldn’t matter so much, but I always want to tell him, “I used to be taller than you! There was that one time!” Here he is sitting, so I clearly tower above him.

Trent reminds me a lot of my brother. He makes friends whereever he goes and he is always up for anything. Whatever he ends up doing will be interesting (also like my brother). He is heading off to Oklahoma State, and I have no doubt he will have a million friends and a million job offers before he graduates college.

Trent & iPad

The kid cleaned up on gifts. Here he is with his iPad (gifted by his brother). JMO swiped his computer the day before and put all his stuff on it, including an art project Trent did and used it as the background.

My favorite part of the weekend was getting to spend time with and meet various relatives of the Oswalt clan.

I met cousin Oran, he was quite entertaining.

The Original Oswalts

I got to spend some time with JMO’s dad, Granny and Aunt Carol.

I got to hang out with JMO too.

Berlin

I also met one of the cutest little girls I have ever. This is Berlin, JMO and Trent’s cousin Nicki’s daughter. She laughed a lot.  There were many kids around and she LOVED playing with them.

The Oswalt family officially has grown-up boys now. Trent will be good at this grown-up gig. If not, he has a million friends, so he won’t ever be out of a place to live.

Day at the Zoo

Back in January my little brother came to San Antonio for a couple of days. When spending time with Michael, an adventure must be had. We attempted to go to a museum, that happened to be closed on Mondays, then we met my mom for lunch and headed on over to the the San Antonio Zoo. The zoo has had quite a few upgrades since I was last there. The weather was perfect and the crowds were non existent on a weekday. It was a fine day.
