The Oswalt Men

DSC01941

Friday we celebrated JMO’s 25th birthday with a trip to Star Pizza with his family. JMO loves pizza, and the rest of us enjoy it. As always it was good to spend time with the Oswalts. They are fun people who truly enjoy the company of the their family. The Oswalt Men got one side of the table, Trent and JMO continually elbowed each other and a good time was had by all. It is hard to believe that JMO is now twenty-five. Twenty-four was eventful, I can’t wait to see what twenty-five holds.

JMO and His Branding – jmoswalt

JMO recently decided to move therealjmo.com to jmoswalt.com. Now he can officially say he is jmoswalt across the board (Twitter, email, Facebook, and website). He has put a lot of time and energy into the new blog pulling in all the lessons he’s learned from making his previous blogs, the CARPOOL website, this blog, and the skills he has picked up in his new career path at Schipul. I have learned more than I knew could be known about the blogging world from JMO and a lot about putting yourself out there and not being afraid to fail.

Anyway, check out JMO’s site. Look how his posts are now one per page. Look at the bottom of each post there are related posts suggestions. Look how you can click any link in the old blog and it will bring you to the new blog. Look how you can choose text or video or choose the title of any previous post from a master index. Look how my boyfriend rocks, what can yours do?

Side note: The picture above is a perfect example on how I’m continuing to fail so I can learn to be good. Picture editing interests me. But alas, I know how to do very little with the software. I have been frustrated with pictures not turning out as I hoped. Look above for me, please be witness my attempt, I promise to produce better soon.

P.S. It is impossible to speak of JMO without including 348239040234 links -the number may be an exaggeration

Version 2006

JMO used to have an insane amount of hair. It was probably longer than my own. Before the hair, he shaved his head, his clippers broke and then he took a break from hair cuts. During this hair cut hiatus, JMO got himself a girl (which would be me). We had been friends for a long time, but he talked me into more by letting me braid his hair. Over Christmas break, he cut it, and was hardly recognizable. Now I look back at JMO long locks and smile and recall that his hair had a personality all its own.

Disclaimer: I like JMO’s short hair. This is not a request for a hair extensions.

Discovery Park

At Emily’s volleyball tournament (now a few weeks back), JMO and I hung out in Discovery park for a bit. We tried laying in the grass and then encountered ants; we moved on to these half circles. We each sit in one and your voice just carries to the other end. On my end, some girls asked if I could step aside so they could take pictures. I don’t think they knew how it worked. I went down to JMO’s side and we listened as they talked about taking photos for their myspace page. Every time I began to giggle, I was told to shhhhh. If they heard me giggle, they would realize we could hear their discussions of their photography sessions.

Point is- go to Discovery Park. It is awesome. If you sit in the half circles, your voice carries.

Power Out.

Power went out for a short moment. It was long enough for us to gather candles in the living room and light them. The candles are still lit and now JMO, Leah and I are sitting around on our laptops.
