Genius Divas.

Today was a really crappy day at work. There was more work to go around than people and everyone was on edge. As an added bonus, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed too. When coworkers are on edge they tend to get snappy, and I hate to admit it, but I get snappy too. I stayed longer than I planned too and I am fairly certain fire was coming out my ears when I walked out the door.

Since I haven’t been to the gym all week, tonight seemed as good a night as any. I missed the turn for the pretty downtown gym and found myself on the highway, which added to my grumpiness. So I went to the tiny gym by my house.

Since itunes came out with the Genius playlist, I have been a fan. If you haven’t updated your itunes to do this, you need to quit everything and DO IT. Basically, you can choose a song that you are into and it makes a playlist around songs similar to that song. Tonight I went with old school Destiny’s Child. Bugaboo brought me a play list of Christina’s Dirty, Britney’s Toxic, Mariah’s Shake it Off, Feist’s 1234, Beyonce’s Check Up On It and strangely Celine’s My Heart Will Go On (disclaimer: sometimes it doesn’t match songs so well). I ran. I ran on a treadmill. I ran for 5o minutes. I typically run for 10 minutes or so and then walk and then run and so on. Divas heal and motivate. These women fixed my day. It may have been the endorphins or whatever from pushing myself, but I will thank the Divas.

Bad day healed.

you buggin what? you buggin who? you buggin me!and dont you see it aint cool

Guggenheim.

When I was visiting JMO in NY last week, we went to the Guggenheim. On Fridays, starting at 5PM, they have a thing where you pay what you think the museum is worth. Above we are standing in the line, which we did not expect to see. We debated while in line what we wanted to pay. I decided on $12 for the two of us, because that is what I had in cash. After I had decided this, I noticed almost everyone paying only a dollar, or even two. I don’t think they were paying what they thought the museum was worth. I think they were paying what they wanted to pay.

The Guggenheim wasn’t really what I expected. There was lots of photography and the exhibits were a little sparse, which I think is not usual for the museum. The building itself seemed to be the greatest attraction. You can start at the bottom and move up, or take the elevator up and work your way down. We went up and worked down. It is set up like a giant spiral ramp with exhibit halls off different levels. On the bottom floor there was a pond with Pinocchio face down in it. It was truly a strange site. JMO’s interpretation was that, “There shall be no more lies.” I thought he read it off a plaque somewhere that i had missed, we asked a museum curator and she informed us that everything was left up to the visitor to interpret.

And that is my ramble about the Guggenheim and this picture.

I am loving having the internet this evening.

Internet!

We have had and awful time keeping the Internet working since we moved. It is in my roommates name, so when I call to complain, I have to pretend to be her. This takes a lot of effort on my part because I’m an awful liar. The last time I called they told me it was probably the router. The router is only about a month old and I was reluctant to call yet another 1-800 number. Today I got home from work and Leah changed out the cable splitter. Now I have the world wide web at my fingertips. It seems ridiculous that we wasted so much time without it and we both spent so much time on the phone, when it was an overlooked old splitter.

I have never appreciated the Internet so much. I am currently downloading all the podcasts I’ve missed, catching up on some Facebook time, adding library Cd’s, updating my iPhone, and grinning from ear to ear.

I love the Internet. Thank you for working in my home.
